Workshop “Training Activities for Costal resources evaluations"
Within the framework of the Project Marine Coastal and Delta Sustainability for Southeast Asia” (Project No. 610327-EPP-1-2019-1-DE-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP), funded by Erasmus+/Key Action 2- Capacity building in the field of higher education, at the National Research Council - Institute for Marine Biological Resources and Biotechnology of the (CNRIRBIM), from 8th to 22th May 2023 in Mazara del Vallo city (Italy) to participate at workshop “Training Activities for Costal resources evaluations”.
The participating delegations included teachers and students from UTM and UMT Universities of Malaysia, Vietnam Maritime University, and Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Resources and Environment. The delegation of Can Tho University led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Anh Tuan, senior lecturer in the Department of Water Resources - College of Environment and Natural Resources, together with two PhD students majoring in Soil and Water Environment, College of Environment and Natural Resources, Can Tho University (Việt Nam) (Nguyen Truong Thanh, lecturer at the College of Environment and Natural Resources, Can Tho University and Nguyen Xuan Lan – Officer of Environmental Monitoring Center of An Giang Province).
A group of university students trained on the Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) Challenge; The International Agreement on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biodiversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction; Hydrodynamics and coastal sediment transportation; Coastal and urban planning in coastal zone areas; Underwater noise and impact on behaviour of marine animals; - Training activity: Analysis of animal behaviour by using a dedicated software; - Verify test: graphic and written representation of the activity carried out; Measuring the ICZM the plan performance.
In addition, Mare book chapters editorial activities; Visit Fishing district headquarter and explore the opportunity to build new relationship; Visit Capo Granitola CNR IAS Research Institute; Field Trip Selinunte Archaeological Park and Social Dinner.
